BLOCKCLOCKS: Dynamically-Generated, Self-Aware Blockchain Art
BlockClocks is a digital art project that generates an animated string of numbers, representing the block number from when it was purchased.
After clicking "Mint," please allow a few moments to refresh the page while we wait for the transaction to propagate back to the generator algorithm. Whichever block your transaction settles in will be the block number generated for your video.
For each digit in the block number, we compute a latent vector, trained on the space of handwritten MNIST digits. To create a smooth animation effect, a video is generated by a sinusoidal interpolation along the latent manifold. If the digit '4' appears twice in a number, each of the fours will look different, since they are generated from uniquely selected latent vectors.
The occasional digit might be glitchy or look like a puff of smoke. But that's part of the fun with generative machine learning. Please enjoy.
